    Ting-Ning Wen

    PERFORMER

    Ting-Ning Wen (she/her) is a Taiwanese actor, dancer, and movement director who earned her MFA in Choreography from Trinity Laban. She participated in the New Earth Performer Academy in July 2022. Her recent collaborations include works with Halfpace Theatre, Eira Dance Theatre, Persona Collective, The Caracalla Dance Theatre and Monica Tolia. In addition to her theatre experience, she engages with emerging artists across various disciplines, including architecture, sound, visual art, and data. Ting-Ning is also a co-founder of Ensemble Not Found, an acclaimed devising theatre company.

    Jake Oldershaw

    PERFORMER

    Jake Oldershaw graduated from Dartington College of Arts in 1995 and has been devising, performing and producing shows ever since. 

    Based in Birmingham, he’s been an associate artist with Stan’s Cafe since 1997. His own company Untied Artists has had several award-winning shows, from Edinburgh Fringe First winner For Their Own Good, to one-to-one show Intimate History. In 2022 he was commissioned by the Commonwealth Games to produce and direct Outside The Box.

    Interactive, up close and personal work has been a theme that runs through his career so it’s with great pleasure that he takes the role of Skald in his first Frozen Light show.

    Hazel Simmons

    PERFORMER

    Originally from Cornwall, Hazel is an actor and musician with a love for singing, songwriting, and performing. She trained at the Guildford School of Acting, earning a BA Hons in Actor Musicianship. Past stage credits include Fisherman’s Friends: The Musical (UK Tour), Romeo and Juliet with Action to the Word,  Into the Night with Original Theatre Company, and productions of A Christmas Carol and The Importance of Being Earnest with The London Touring Players. An accomplished multi-instrumentalist, Hazel enjoys bringing music into her performances with the cello and guitar.

    Amber Onat Gregory & Lucy Garland

    CO-ARTISTIC DIRECTORS

    Lucy and Amber founded Frozen Light in 2013. Since that time they have devised, produced and toured five multisensory productions for audiences with PMLD: Tunnels; The Forest; HOME; The Isle of Brimsker and 2065. Fire Songs grew out of a vision to create a production where audiences were immersed in live singing, and bringing together different groups of the community.

    Kate O'Connor

    DIRECTOR

    Kate is a Director with a background in new writing, devised and international theatre. She has worked with Frozen Light since the tour of their first show, Tunnels. She regularly works on plays in translation, directing Spanish play Cuzco at Theatre503 in 2019. Previous directing includes work at CPT, Ovalhouse, Theatre in the Mill, Hoxton Hall, GLYPT and the Edinburgh Fringe. Kate has been a Creative Associate at the Gate Theatre, Associate with Company of Angels, Associate Director with METIS (World Factory, Young Vic) and in the West End. She trained with Philippe Gaulier and was a finalist in the JMK Award 2012 and 2014.

    Jack Boissieux

    PRODUCTION MANAGER

    Jack runs a production management company working across theatre, opera, dance, musicals and events. He has worked on national and international touring productions, West End musicals and immersive / site specific theatre. Recent and current credits include The Choir Of Man (West End and International Touring), Bluey's Big Play (International Touring), Head Of Production @ Waterperry Opera Festival, Pied Piper (National Touring), Feeling Afraid As If Something Terrible Is Going To Happen (Bush Theatre and International Touring), A Very Naughty Christmas (Southwark Playhouse, Elephant) and the Annual Fundraising Gala for the National Youth Theatre.

    Sam Halmarack

    COMPOSER

    As sound designer and musician, Sam has worked with Still House, One Step At a Time Like This (AUS), JOF (AUS), Bryony Kimmings, Emma Williams, She Goat, Action Hero, Tom Marshman, Sylvia Rimat, Liz Clarke, and Jennifer Bell Company amongst many others. He is a sound design mentor and consultant with community outreach schemes across the country. His show with JOF ‘WE ARE LIGHTNING!’ won Judges Choice at the Dublin Fringe Festival was nominated for the Melbourne Green Room awards in the category of Community Collaboration. Sam’s solo show ‘Sam Halmarack and The Miserablites’ was nominated for the Arches Brick Award and the John Chattaway award for innovation.

    Kat Heath

    SET & COSTUME DESIGN

    Katharine trained in Theatre Design at Wimbledon School of Art and Central Saint Martins. She works as a Set and Costume designer in Theatre, Music and Opera and is drawn to unconventional and innovative forms of storytelling. Play and experimentation are at the heart of Katharine’s work, she enjoys being part of the rehearsal process in devised performance to ensure design is entwined with the narrative. She regularly works with immersive companies Punchdrunk, Theatre Delicatessen and Geraldine Pilgrim and enjoys working in a range of spaces, from broom cupboards to West End stage.

    Dave Sherman

    LIGHTING DESIGN

    David studied theatre design at the Royal School of Speech and Drama. Since then he has been lighting designer, production manager, re-lighter, technical stage manager in drama, dance, opera, musicals and events. Although now once again freelance, he has most recently held the post of Technical Manager at New Wolsey Theatre, Ipswich. David works with Frozen Light to discover new and exciting ways of lighting their sets and props to create real multi-sensory magic!
