Our Sensory Home: Carrow House

Our 'Sensory Home' is based in Norwich at New Carrow House on floor three.

We share our space with the fantastic Musical Keys.

Carrow House

Large Victorian-style house with a glass conservatory, surrounded by trees and under a partly cloudy sky.

Around 1860, James Colman of Colman's Mustard rebuilt a mid-19th century villa and made it the family home. In 1895, they added an ornate Victorian conservatory (recently featured in British Vogue!) with Art Nouvaeu stained glass and tessellated floors.

Part new, part Grade-II listed, Carrow House is a large office building on King Street shared between local charities and artists.

Our Sensory Home

Our space consists of:

  • 2 studios

  • 2 offices

  • Living room area

  • Kitchen area

  • Accessible toilet

  • Gender neutral toilet

  • Changing Places toilet

Our Studio

Empty room with black flooring, white walls, and large windows on the right side, containing shelves with boxes, jars, and miscellaneous items forming a sensory library.

Our rehearsal room, our place to play, our creative cosmos!

This is where we make our shows through research and development (R&D), freely investigating and exploring new ideas, and where we rehearse our current touring productions before heading out on the road.

When we host our Sensory Studio we transform the space with a sensory tunnel and room that allows the artists to get into the experimental mindset.

We also host our fortnightly Sensory Sessions where different artist run multi-sensory session for adults with PMLD to explore their creativity!

The studio comes with a sensory library, full of past, present and future sensory elements used in our work.
