Fire Songs - Community Choir Call Out
Fire Songs
Wednesday 14th to Saturday 17th October 2026
Fire Songs is a multi-sensory choral show created by theatre company Frozen Light, with words and music by Thomas Johnson, for audiences with profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD). The performance celebrates the value that everyone brings to the world and builds a connection between the audience and choir around a celestial campfire.
We are delighted that Fire Songs will be performed at Theatre Royal Plymouth from Wednesday 14th – Saturday 17th October 2026. There will be two performances a day in The Drum theatre, and the choir will be asked to be present between 9:30am – 3pm on performance days. There will also be a Dress Rehearsal on Tuesday 13th October from 5:30 – 9:30pm, which is compulsory for all involved.
Fire Songs is performed by a choir of 24 singers covering 3 parts (Soprano, Alto, Baritone), together with a cast of 4 Frozen Light performers.
Singers do not need to attend every performance, and we will ensure everyone who commits to the project has the opportunity to perform. We encourage the choir to learn the music by heart to allow for greater connection with the audience.
Frozen Light will provide scores, lyric sheets and rehearsal tracks to help you learn the music. You will be offered a Disability Equality Training session as part of the project.
Frozen Light’s Community Choir Producer and Composer, Thomas Johnson, will both visit choir rehearsals to support you whilst working on Fire Songs.
